Dan Dvran

About artist

A visual artist and designer currently based in Siaton, Negros Oriental, Dan initially planned to create artworks to accumulate a body of work after finishing his college degree in Silliman University. However, he pursued an opportunity to study fashion design at the School of Fashion and the Arts on a full academic scholarship. During his design education, he became one of the winners of the Preview Emerging Talent Awards for Preview Magazine in 2011.

He spent some time after fashion school in Dubai to gain experience as a couture designer. In 2018, he won the silver medal for the Balintawak category for TERNOCON, a terno making convention and contest supported by the Cultural Center of the Philippines and BENCH. Currently managing a small made-to-measure business, Dan is continually making art and experimenting on fashion design sustainability and applying new ways of making clothes based on the work of Madeline Vionnet. Currently, he is developing collage and print work with upcycled material.
